Getting about in Treignac
The idea just go to the house in Le Theil and chill, take the FJR1300 and
leave it there. ;)
So Wendy and I
successfully loaded and secured the FJR to the trailer packed the car and
set off for the ferry arriving at 15h40 the following day...

Our first ride out
was to Lac de Vassivierre Via Eymoutiers and back through Payrat Le Chateau.

July
2007
a busy month
for us where we moved the furniture out to France and trail-red Wendy's
CB500S out, this was also the first time Wendy had ridden abroad. We
only got out one day but it was worth it...

September 5th
well we were
her for good and the Rocket 111 was here to...

Going out for the first ride on the Rocket... Sure woke the locals up.
September 8th
Time to
go for a ride and introduce Wendy to the wonders of twisties and scenery
without traffic.

September 11th
saw our first
visitors since we move over, John, Dave and his wife Lisa at the same time a
Mike (Action Mike of R111 fame.)

September 13th Lucky for some
Mike and I got
out for a ride and an Intro for Mike to the local roads D940

and Lunch in Limoges before finding the Triumph dealership to organise a
rear tyre for me...
September 14th
sees us headed
south in search of the nearest Brico Depot (B&Q equivalent) for a brochure.

Malemort-Sur-Correze for a Sandwich - just outside of Brive-La-Gaillarde

This soon saw us on the A20 headed deep south in the direction of Toulouse.
Once we had the catalogue we made our way home the scenic route
Through the Lot Valley and the Dordogne.

A memorial to the Resistance

September 15th
just a quick
blast

September 16th
Mike and I
explore the incredibly twistie D16

when we arrived back we had a visitor John & Helen dropped by on their house
hunting trip for a cuppa.

17th September
a bit damp but decided
to get out and see where that road went (you know what I mean) De Route des
Monédières mountain

September 21st
Wendy and I took a trip out South East along the D16
to Egletons to check out the town...

October 4th
Short ride today to Selihac to sort out the man about
Sky.

9th October
we went for a ride headed West after taking some
photos of the Treignac Bridge A very steep ride down and up again...
we took many photos of the roads but they were all very similar in view,
bend after bend and very little traffic until you came into the towns.

11th October
After fitting the Weather Vain on the pig sty, kindly bought for us as a
leaving present from all at Silversands,
I decided to go for a burn on the R111 whilst Wendy went mushroom picking
with Yvette our French neighbour.
I also took the R111 down to the bridge in Treignac (ActionMike it was
easy).

Saturday 13th October
26
degrees outside so Wendy and I went to the Dordogne for a ride 115 miles
round trip, the roads were a mixture of mountain roads and normal twisties
(Normal for us now)
Sunday 21 October lovely sunny day but
cold wind
We headed down to
Gimel-les-Cascades using the single track roads

This is the end of the lane from the house joining the D32e That is quite a
hairpin to the right.

One of the many lakes we pass when we are out riding - the area is aptly
called the French Lake District...
Saturday 27 October
another lovely sunny day with a
cold wind
We rode the
160 mile round trip to
Rocamadour
on some amazing roads and through some spectacular vistas.

Coffee stop in Martel and to put on another layer.

The views were almost as good as the roads we had just come down...

Sunday 28 October
the weather was too sunny not to.

1st November
and the weather is still nice and sunny
- so I just had to wash and polish the bikes...
Even changed the headlights over on the Rocket to French ones only took a
few moments.

22nd November
The weather
has been wet windy and we have even had snow but when the sun shone I had
work
to do outside but today I had the time and managed a pleasant autumnal ride
on both the FJR and the R111
Awesome...
